Role and Responsibilities
The President of GAGE University College is a senior academic leader entrusted with implementing
policies and programs established by the Senate. As the chief executive officer, the President
ensures the advancement of academic excellence, institutional development, and overall governance
of the University College. The key responsibilities of the President include:
- Institutional Leadership: Provides strategic direction and oversees the management of the University College.
- Policy Development: Recommends policies to the Board that align with the mission and vision of the University College.
- Human Resource Oversight: Approves appointments, promotions, and personnel policies in consultation with relevant bodies.
- Budget and Financial Administration: Prepares and administers the budget, ensuring financial stability.
- Campus Development: Directs the physical expansion and infrastructure planning of the University College.
- Academic Affairs: Ensures quality assurance and continuous improvement of teaching, learning, and research.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represents the University College in dealings with government agencies, partners, and the private sector.
- Strategic Planning: Leads the formulation and execution of long-term strategic plans for institutional growth.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensures adherence to local, national, and international higher education regulations.
- Research and Innovation: Encourages a culture of research and innovation across all faculties.
- Quality Assurance: Monitors the implementation of accreditation and quality assurance standards.
- Student and Faculty Welfare: Promotes an inclusive and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff.
- University Senate Collaboration: Consults and collaborates with the Senate on major policy decisions and academic developments.
- Institutional Partnerships: Establishes and strengthens local and international collaborations to enhance academic excellence.
- Annual Reporting: Provides comprehensive reports to the Board on institutional progress and challenges.
Additional Responsibilities
- Enhances the digital transformation initiatives within the University College.
- Oversees the implementation of research-driven community engagement programs.
- Monitors the effectiveness of academic and administrative reforms.
- Ensures compliance with GAGE University College’s code of ethics and governance framework.
- Leads efforts in securing funding and grants for institutional development.
