Admission Rules and Regulations

General Admission Guidelines

Admission to GAGE University College is based on the standards set by the Ministry of Education of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
All applicants must meet the academic and administrative requirements specified by the University.

  • All admission-related inquiries should be directed to the Office of the Registrar.
  • The Registrar’s Office will verify applicants’ eligibility and forward those meeting the minimum requirements to the Quality Assurance Office for approval.
  • Foreign applicants and Ethiopian students who have studied abroad must provide a Higher Education Equivalence Letter from the Education and Training Authority (ETA) and fulfill all university requirements.
  • International applicants must hold a valid passport, entry visa, and residence permit, preferably a student visa.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Regular Undergraduate Programs

Applicants must fulfill one of the following requirements to be eligible for admission:

  • Pass all required subjects in the Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examination (EHEECE) as mandated by the Ministry of Education or any legally authorized body.
  • Select a faculty and department according to the University’s general guidelines.

Special Admission Criteria

Applicants can also be admitted under special conditions, including:

  • Foreign Examination Results – Recognized by a letter from ETA.
  • Official Transcripts – From a recognized higher education institution.
  • Degree Holders – Applicants seeking another undergraduate degree.
  • TVET Graduates – Meeting the following criteria:
    • TVET Level IV Certificate Holders must provide:
      • Ethiopian General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (EGSECE) / Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate Examination (ESLCE).
      • Certificate of Competency (COC) Pass result.
      • One year of verified work experience.
      • Passing score on the University’s Entrance Examination.
    • TVET Level III Certificate Holders must meet the above requirements, except for the entrance exam, but must instead pass the EHEECE as per Ministry of Education standards.

Postgraduate Admission Requirements

General Requirements

Applicants must meet the following academic qualifications to be eligible for postgraduate programs:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00.
  • Graduates from internationally recognized institutions must present equivalent academic credentials.
  • Successfully pass a qualifying examination if required by the respective graduate program.
  • Provide three letters of recommendation from undergraduate instructors, employers, or professional associations. (Preferably from the first two categories).

Specific Requirements

  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in any field (Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, etc.) from a recognized institution can apply.
  • A minimum CGPA of 2.00 upon graduation is required.
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree in any field are also eligible for advanced postgraduate studies.
